Allu Sirish is one of the heroes from the Mega family who is approaching every film with caution. After a short gap, he recently came up with the movie Buddy. After promoting the film aggressively and announcing that the film will be available to watch with less ticket prices, the makers tried to generate some attention towards the film. Directed by Sam Anton, the film is produced by Studiogreen Gnanvelraja. The film was released today and check out the review.
Story:
Dr. Arjun (Ajmal) resides in Hongkong and gets involved in trading of human organs. He finds Pallavi's (Gayathri Bharadwaj) heart as a match to the country's mafia don. In this context, he kidnaps her. At the same time, her Teddybear gets some mysterious powers. And then, there is suspended pilot Aditya (Allu Sirish) who was once loved by Pallavi. Upon finding that Pallavi is missing, he teams up with Teddy to save his love interest. Did he succeed? Watch the film to know more.
Performances:
Allu Sirish delivers a decent performance, but the role lacks depth and challenge. Gayatri Bharadwaj has limited screen time and fails to make a significant impact. Prisha Rajesh Singh does slightly better but still lacks substantial scenes. Ajmal plays his character in a typical template, while Mukesh Rishi receives unnecessary buildup for a soft role. Comedian Ali's jokes fall flat and fail to amuse the audience.
Technical Aspects:
Hip Hop Thamizha's background score is decent, but the songs do not stand out. Krishnan Vasanth's visuals are impressive, and his work in making the CG shots look natural is commendable.Ruben's editing could have been tighter, especially in the fight sequences. Sai Hemant's dialogues lack sparkle and fail to leave an impression. The visual effects are mediocre and do not enhance the film significantly. Studio Green's production values are adequate.
Review:
Gone are those days where filmmakers used to come up with movies attracting kids. Today, the kids can access a lot of kid-friendly films on the internet itself. With this, it has become tough for filmmakers to entertain the kids with something they are not familiar with. Unfortunately, director Sam Anton's Buddy seems to miss this crucial point, resulting in a film that fails to captivate its intended audience. References to blockbuster movies are sprinkled throughout but fail to add depth or excitement to the lifeless story. Buddy is a disappointing attempt at children's entertainment. It lacks the engaging content necessary to draw young audiences to theaters. Buddy struggles to maintain interest with its routine storyline, weak character development, and lackluster humor.
Plus Points:
Concept
Buddy Scenes
Minus Points:
Screenplay
Pace
Zero Emotion
Final Verdict: Unfriendly Buddy!
