Universal Star Kamal Haasan's latest movie, "Bharatiyadu-2," directed by Shankar, has hit the screens today amid high expectations. Let's dive into the review to see how it fared.

Story:
Chitra Aravindan (Siddharth) and his friends create social media videos to raise awareness about corruption and injustice in society. Following dramatic events, they call for the return of Bharateeyudu (Kamal Haasan), a freedom fighter who fought against corruption in India. He re-emerges to eliminate those guilty of gross corruption and looting public funds, inspiring the youth in the process. The story unfolds to reveal the truth behind these events, and why the public turned against Bharateeyudu, and his ultimate goal.

Performances:
Kamal Haasan excels as Senapathi, with his performance, look, and action scenes standing out. The animation visuals, particularly the Breaking Dogs sequence, are also noteworthy. Siddharth shines as Chitra Aravindan, with significant screen time. SJ Surya brings life to his role as Sakalakala Vallavan Sarguna Pandiyan, while Bobby Simha is convincing as CBI officer Pramod. Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Vivek, and Gulshan Grover, along with the rest of the cast, deliver commendable performances.

Technical Aspects:
Anirudh Ravichander's music does not add much value to the film. Some scenes feel outdated, and the overall narrative occasionally drags.

The technical department excels, with Ravi Varman's cinematography being a standout. His work in key scenes is exceptional. Editor A. Srikar Prasad delivers good editing. The production values by Subhaskaran Alliraja and Udayanidhi Stalin are excellent. Director S. Shankar impresses with his direction.

Review:
The movie effectively highlights societal corruption and injustice. It boasts a huge cast, stunning visuals, and impressive action sequences. The cartoon track exposing corrupt politicians and officials is a highlight, and Shankar's direction effectively portrays societal shortcomings. However, the sequel lacks freshness in its plot and characters, feeling repetitive due to its similarity to the original. Shankar's signature visuals and Kamal's performance are definite strengths. However, the film suffers from a lack of freshness, a predictable narrative, and some outdated scenes.

Plus Points:
Kamal Haasan
Theme

Minus Points:
No Freshness
Boring Scenes

Final Verdict: Bharateeyudu 2 Is Not a Perfect Sequel
