The much-awaited Avatar: The Way of Water has been released. As it was released 13 years after the first part, immense hype was built around this movie. This film, directed by James Cameron, features Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana in the lead roles. Here is the review of it:

Story:
After winning against humans, Jake Sully aka Toruk Makto (Sam Worthington) leads a happy family life with his wife Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) and four children, Neteyam, Lo'ak, Kiri and Tuk. When everything seems to be going fine in Pandora, Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang) comes back to Pandora as an Avatar to take revenge against Jake. Jake realizes Miles' arrival and goes into exile along with his family to an island where the water-based Metkayina clan resides. How did Miles find Jake? What happens when he attacks that island? Will Jake protect his family? To know the answers, you have to watch the film.

Performances:
Avatar is not a performance-based film. You shouldn't expect award-winning performances in the movie. But all the lead characters were good and emote excellently. As it is a motion capture film, the emotions can't be judged.

Sam and Zoe give us all memories of the first part. Special mention should be given to all kids who played key roles in the movie.

Technical Aspects:
James Cameron took 13 years to come up with this sequel. He is also one of the writers of the movie. As per writing, Avatar sticks to a generic family-based emotional drama. But Cameron makes it visually magnificent with his technical prowess.

Russell Carpenter's cinematography is breathtaking. Music by Simon Franglen elevates the scenes to the next level, especially in the final war sequences. The editing could have been better. The credit must go to the VFX team. They have succeeded once again in delivering a stunning visual masterpiece.

Analysis:
People go to watch Avatar in order to experience stunning visuals and epic fight sequences. James Cameron succeeds in both aspects. But the pacing becomes an issue for this movie. It is 192 minutes long and can be tiresome for many audiences. Until the third act, we don't see any significant fight sequences.

Compared to the first part, this sequel falls short in terms of story and narration. But the extraordinary visuals make audiences hooked to the proceedings. It should be watched at least once in theatres. You don't get to watch these kinds of films quite often in theatres. So, book your tickets right away.
