Editor SR Shekar made his debut as a director with the film Macherla Niyojakavargam. Nithiin, Catherine Tresa and Krithi Shetty played the lead roles of the film. The film's trailer impressed everyone big time. Check out the review of the film here.
Story:
Siddhu (Nithin) is an IAS officer who falls in love with Swathi (Krithi Shetty). Swathi is troubled by a person called Rajappa (Samuthirakhani) who hails from Macherla. When Siddhu gets his posting in Macherla, things get messy as Siddhu initiates a war with Rajappa. What is the connection between Swathi and Rajappa? What did Siddhu do to save Swathi? What happens in the end? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances:
Nithiin intentionally picked up the project only to avoid doing the love stories. The actor wants to do action films and hence underwent a transformation for playing the lead character of the film. This is a complete mass character for Nithiin and he played it very well in the film. His body language, dialogue delivery and looks are good.
Catherine Tresa got a good role after a long time and she played it well. On the other hand, Krithi Shetty is good in her character and the chemistry between the lead pair is nice.
Vennela Kishore's comedy is good. Rajendra Prasad, Murali Sharma, Samuthirakhani are good in their roles and they made their presence felt. The rest of the cast is good.
Technical Aspects:
The film is nice in terms of the technical aspects. The visuals are pretty good. The cinematography added more value to the film. The songs are average but Ra Ra Reddy song is extremely good.
The background score is impressive too. The editing is okay and the conversations are routine. The narration is weak in the film and the fights are good.
Review:
The first half of the film is good and entertaining. The comedy quotient in the film is impressive. The film lacks story and hence, the screenplay is not engaging too. Most of the scenes are predictable and they lack novelty. The film also goes down in terms of some logic scenes. The film has good performances but in the end, it is just another commercial potboiler which could have been good in many more aspects. On the whole, Macherla Niyojakavargam is a routine film which has nothing new to offer to the audiences.
Plus Points:
Nithiin's Mass Appeal
Ra Ra Reddy song
Comedy
Minus Points:
Weak Plot
Screenplay
Execution
Final Verdict: Macherla Niyojakavargam lacks the punch!
