Story:
Lal Singh Chadha (Aamir Khan) embarks on a journey of self-discovery. He undergoes a lot of trauma and troubles in his life. Despite that, he determines to score big and be happy in life. In the process, he falls for Rupa (Kareena Kapoor), but she ditches him in different stages of life. Will they ever get reunited? What did Lal Singh Chaddha discover in his journey? What did he undergo in life? Forms the film's story.
Performances:
Aamir Khan is a natural actor and there is nothing that he can not perform. From minute detailings to extreme emotions, he played everything that the character demanded well. He is brilliant on the screen and his chemistry with Kareena Kapoor is extremely good.
Kareena Kapoor is a perfect fit for this character and she played it well.
Naga Chaitanya Akkineni marked his debut in Hindi with the film. His role is limited but he evokes laughs on the screen and leaves an impression. Mona Singh is a great performer and she is extremely good too. The rest of the cast made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
Technically, the film looks the best. From the makeup to the backdrop, the makers took utmost care in making us believe everything. The production design is excellent.
The camera work is exceptional. The visuals are grand. The music is impressive. The editing is good too. But, the duration gives boredom to the audience. The production values are grand.
Review:
The film lacks major emotion. Every film carries an emotion from the beginning to the end. But, the film lacks it. The drama elements are inadequate. Although Aamir played his part well, the film does not give enough scope for the viewers to enjoy the drama in the film. On top of it, the film is lengthy. The screenplay is not engaging and the story is not adapted well.
The narrative structure of the film is not gripping. Although the team tried to keep everything in place, they failed to add the soul into a classic and it does enough damage. On the whole, Lal Singh Chadha is a big disappointment and leaves a bad impression on everyone. A wasted opportunity, in simple words.
