Malayalam star hero Prithviraj Sukumaran played the lead role in the new film Kaduva. The film was also released in Telugu with the same title. The film was promoted well even in Telugu and check out the review here.
Story:
Kaduvakunel Kuriyachen Chethan (Prithviraj) is someone who lives a dignified life in society. However, a sudden twist in his life results in the entry of IG Thomas (Vivek Oberoi). After that, IG starts provoking Kaduva and it leads to the fight between the police department and Kaduva. What is the reason for the rivalry? What did Kaduva do to win this battle? What happens in the end? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances:
Prithviraj Sukumaran needs no introduction and he is a born actor. His way of portrayal of Kaduva is impressive. Prithvi's mark dialogue deliver, and his looks and screen presence are attractive.
On the other hand, Vivek Oberoi who can ace negative roles has given his solid best for the film. The intensity of his performance is so powerful.
Samyuktha Menen who made her debut with Bheemla Nayak has given her best for the film. She has done complete justice for the role she played. The rest of the cast also made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
The Telugu dubbing is a disappointment and the makers could have done it well. The cinematography of the film is highly impressive.
The music scored by Jakes Bejoy is good but the songs failed to impress the audience in Telugu. The mass elements have come out well. The editing could have been a little better. Director Shaji Kailash's writing is good in parts. The production values are grand.
Review:
Kaduva is completely a character-driven film. It is highly based on the hero and villain characterizations. The mass audiences will like the film to the core. The screenplay is interesting and has good twists that hook the audience. Compared to the first half, the film's second half is dull. It is flat and very simple.
The narrative structure is also a little unimpressive. The director took his time in establishing characters and conflicts and he could have done it fast. The boredom in bits and pieces will slightly affect the viewing experience. On the whole, the film is good in parts.
Plus Points:
Performances
Camera Work
Main Plot
Minus Points:
Weak Second half
Narration
Final verdict: Kaduva is filled with mass & good in parts
