Talented Actor Satyadev Kancharana who recently appeared in Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Acharya,' has now come up with an action thriller titled 'Godse.' Kollywood beauty Aishwarya Lekshmi played the female lead in this movie. Gopi Ganesh Pattabhi wielded the megaphone for this project which also featured actors like Brahmaji, Tanikella Bharani, Nagababu, Noel, Priyadarshi, etc. C Kalyan, under the CK Screens banner, bankrolled this project. After creating a good impression on the audience with the trailer, the film finally made it into the theatres today (June 17, 2022). Here is the review of the movie.
Story:
The story starts with Godse (Satyadev) holding some bigwigs in the city as hostages. The police in Hyderabad go on high alert. To release the hostages, Godse raises some demands. Police officer Vaishali (Aishwarya Lekshmi) comes into the picture to solve the case and find Godse. Who is Godse? Why did he kidnap the bigwigs? What are his demands? Did Vaishali succeed in saving the hostages? What happened, in the end, forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Satyadev is undoubtedly one of the most talented actors in the industry, and the actor has proved it again with this film. His splendid performance is one of the major driving factors behind the film.
Aishwarya Lekshmi is also decent in her role and delivered a good performance. Brahmaji delivered an honest performance. Tanikella Bharani went under the skin of the character and did a good job. Nagababu and Prithviraj are also impressive in the roles. Noel and Priyadarshi also delivered decent performances. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
Despite being a newcomer, Gopi Ganesh Pattabhi has handled the project really well. He sure is inconsistent in terms of his narration, but the way he presented the film is appreciable. Gopi Ganesh Pattabhi impressed the audience with his way of storytelling.
Production values by CK Screens are really. Music by Sunil Kashyap is decent. His BGM also elevated most of the scenes. However, his songs are not up to the mark. Cinematographer Suresh Sarangam has delivered some brilliant visuals for the film. Editing by Sagar Udagandla could have been better.
Verdict:
The movie started off quite well. The first half focused more on the character and story establishment. The hostage drama is interesting and engaging. The interval bang is just average. The second half is very boring and slow. Most of the scenes felt routine. Also, the flashback scenes are quite disappointing, and the audience might not connect well with the emotions of the characters.
Some of the scenes also lack logic and are too unrealistic. Overall, 'Godse' is a routine outdated storyline with Satyadev's intense performance. We can consider that the film is a half-baked hostage drama with a decent first half and dull second half followed by a silly climax.
Plus Points:
Satyadev
First half
Hostage drama
Satyadev's climax speech
Minus Points:
No depth in emotions
Second half
Flashback scenes
Lack of logic in some scenes
Final Verdict: Outdated 'Godse'
