Power Star Pawan Kalyan's much-awaited film Bheemla Nayak has finally hit the screens today. Starring Rana Dagubbati in the other lead role, this movie was directed by Saagar K Chandra. Here is our review of this action drama.
Story:
Daniel Shekhar (Rana Daggubati) is a retired army officer, who is now an aspiring politician. One day, he gets caught by Sub-Inspector Bheemla Nayak (Pawan Kalyan) for illegally transporting liquor in a prohibited area.
What follows is the ego clash between these two-headed individuals which starts on a verbal note and goes on to another level. To know who won this epic clash, you have to watch the film.
Performances:
After a long gap, Pawan Kalyan is back with a complete mass film and he did justice to the role. He played the role of a subtle and sincere cop in the first half. But the transformation he undergoes in the second half is phenomenal.
Rana Daggubati is another major asset of the movie. Though his acting went a bit over-board a few times, he compensates every flaw with his overall performance in the movie. Nithya Menen got a good role and she did it with ease. Samyuktha Menon was decent. Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma and Samuthirakni did justice to their respective characters.
Technical Departments:
Though it is a remake of the Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum, Bheemla Nayak is quite different from its original. Trivikram's screenplay suits the nativity and sensibilities of the Telugu audiences. He did a wonderful job. Director Saagar K Chandra handled things beautifully from the start to the end.
Thaman's music is the major highlight of the movie. Apart from the songs, he should get a special appreciation for his background score in the second half. A complete goosebumps stuff. Cinematography by Ravi K Chandran is exceptional and so are the production values. The editing by Navin Nooli is adequate.
Analysis:
Dialogue and screenplay writer Trivikram should be commended for bringing some very good changes in Bheemla Nayak. The flashback connection was fabulous. The second half is more action-driven, unlike its original. The minimal runtime also works big time.
The first half starts on a slow note and takes time to set up the clash between both the leads. Things take a complete mass turn during the pre-interval block. Since then, there is no stopping for the mass rampage. Overall, Bheemla Nayak is a fell-feast for fans as well as normal audiences.
Plus Points:
Pawan Kalyan and Rana
Dialogues
Pre-interval
Second half
Background score
Minus Points:
The slightly slow first half
A few overboard scenes
One-line Verdict: Blockbuster Nayak
