Maha Samudram is one of the new movies in Telugu. The film features Siddharth, Sharwanand, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Anu Emmanuel played the lead roles in the film. Directed by Ajay Bhupathi, the film is produced by Anil Sunkara. The film was released today morning and check out the film's review.
Story:
Arjun (Sharwanand) and Vijay (Siddharth) are good friends. They get into the ugly mafia world controlled by Dhanunjay (Ram). Some dramatic events push Vijay out of the city. Vijay loves Maha (Aditi Rao) and Arjun loves Smitha (Anu Emmanuel). Later, the entry of Chunchu Mama (Jagapathi Babu) will lure Arjun Arjun to get more corrupted in the mafia world. The rest of the story is about how the situations take a toll on their lives.
Performances:
Sharwanand and Siddharth are talented actors who got interesting characters in the film. Both the actors played different shades in the film. On one side, Sharwanand played an aggressive person while Siddharth is equally dynamic. The chemistry between the two is extremely impressive. They did well in the emotional scenes as well as action scenes. The interval episode reveals the best side of Sharwanand. Aditi Rao Hydari's performance is too good. Her character has a greater significance in the script. Anu Emmanuel's role is insignificant. Jagapathi Babu, Rao Ramesh, and Garuda Ram also did well as per their character limitations. The rest of the cast is impressive too.
Technical Aspects:
The film's camera work is a major plus point of the film. The visuals are stunning. The makers showcased Vizag completely in a new shade. The editing is sharp and impressive. The songs are not up to the mark but the background score is highly haunting. The score elevated the film's mood perfectly. Especially, in the emotional as well as action scenes, the background score is too good.
Review:
The film's first half has got enough elements to keep the audience hooked. The director dealt with a predictable plot in a rugged manner. The director banked on the characterizations. All in all, the film has a character-driven story. Interestingly, the film's story has some twists but they do not add up to the final punch. The film's first half has the right momentum and the interval block takes the story to a next level but the second half falls flat. The film's second half failed to give closure to the emotional threads. On the whole, Maha Samudram is a perfect mass cinema for the festival season with some shortcomings.
Plus Points:
Performances
Cinematography
First Half
BGM
Minus Points:
Predictable Plot
Weak Second Half
Final Verdict: 'Maha Samudram' is loaded with Mass but lacks the punch!
