Jiiva who is shot to fame with the film Rangam came up with a new movie titled Gypsy. The movie releases in both Tamil and Telugu languages today. It is available on Zee5 in Tamil and on Aha in Telugu. Check out the review of the film here.

Story:
Gypsy (Jiiva) is an orphan. He wanders around the world but he comes across a Muslim girl Waheedha (Natasha Singh) and falls for her. Waheedha too loves him back. When Waheedha's family arranges marriage for her, Gypsy and Waheedha run away from their place to begin a new life. In the process, they face a lot of struggles. What are they? How did they overcome the same? Forms the story of the movie.

Review:
Raju Murugan who earlier did the National Award Winning movie Joker is the director of the film. Usually, the audiences keep many expectations on this film, considering his previous track record. But, like his first film, this film also has a different story. The story has got multiple new elements, especially with the hero characterisation which we usually do not see. We do not come across stories as such in general life normally. Although the thought of the film is nice, the movie is not very exciting.

The director is successful in showcasing the life of a wanderer. But when it comes to conflict, it looks weak. The film is not very emotional too although the director has a scope to explore them. The director did a honest job to stay true to what he wants to convey with the movie. Some of the scenes are dealt in a sensible manner. A few scenes in the film are lengthy which brings boredom to the audiences. However, the first half is good and the second half falls flat with a disappointing climax.

Performances:
Jiiva appears n a new and different getup. He performed well in the emotional sequences. His performance is good and the characterisation is different too. Natasha Singh looks beautiful and she played her part well too. The rest of the cast made their presence felt.

Technical Aspects:
The camera work of the movie is impressive. The locations looked beautiful as the team made use of proper lighting and framing. The music of the movie is not so good but the background score is impressive. There is a versatality in the plotline but the screenplay is not engaging with a weak conflict. The production values are good.
