Story:
A young girl named Preethi goes missing in the outskirts of Hyderabad. The Police Department assigns this case to Homicide Intervention Team (HIT)'s officer Vikram Rudhraraju. While unraveling the mystery of this case, Vikram also has to deal with his traumatic past. What happened in his past? Why his past has to do with this case? Did he save Preethi? To know more about this, you should go to the theatres.
Performances:
Vishwak Sen gave his best to this role. The actor proved that he is a bundle of talent and can pull off any kind of role. The shift he maintained as a person haunted by his past and a celebrated police officer, is effortless. Ruhani Sharma performed well in her limited, but crucial role. Murali Sharma got yet another meaty role and he did complete justice to it. Bhanuchander was good and it feels nice to see him back on screen after a long time. Hari Teja was apt. Rest others did their bit to the best capabilities.
Technical Aspects:
Director Sailesh Kolanu has to get a pat on the back for choosing this script as his maiden film. Without no songs and no other commercial deviations, Hit progresses like a super-fast express with a lot of thrilling elements. The next one to get the credits should be both the cinematographer and the music director.
Manikandan stood as the main strength to Sailesh to convey the story in a perfect way. The visuals are stunning. Vivek Sagar gave an amazing background score and it will remain as one of his best works to date. Editing by Garry BH is also very nice, and he managed to keep the viewers hooked to the screens throughout the runtime.
Verdict:
Hit is not a regular commercial thriller. It is a hardcore thriller without any masala elements. The first of the film leaves the tied knots while the second half unties all those threads. In the process of chasing the mystery, the director stuffed too much of information. The audience will keep guessing throughout watching the film and at one point, it gets predictable. A few lags in the second half might bore a bit. Otherwise, Hit is a well-made thriller with a watch.
Plus Points:
Vishwak Sen's performance
Screenplay & Cinematography
Background score
Minus Points:
A few lags in the second half
Weak Twist
Final Verdict: Vishwak Sen's 'Hit' is good in parts
