Hero Karthikeya scored a superhit with Rx100 but soon scored a disaster with Hippi. To get back to the success form, he came up with his latest movie Guna 369 which has hit the screens today. Directed by Arjun Jandhyala, this film featured Anagha as the female lead. Check out the review of it.
Story:
Guna (Karthikeya) is a happy-go-lucky kind of a guy who falls in love with Geetha (Anagha). As life is progressing happily, Guna falls in trouble when he helps his friend. A series of dramatic events lead Gaddalagunta Radha (Aditya) come into the picture and Guna goes to jail in a case related to Radha murder.
This results in Guna's life becoming upside down. What did Guna do then? What troubles did he face? What happened in the end? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances:
Karthikeya Gummakonda has been showing improvement with each of his films and did the same with this movie as well. It is evident that the actor has worked really hard for this film. She has gone under the skin of the character and delivered his best performance to date. Anagha looked gorgeous in the film and also delivered good performances in the film.
She sure is an absolute delight to watch and her chemistry with Karthikeya is also extremely beautiful. Especially, their scenes together in the first half will impress the audience. Adithya Menon's intense performance added more strength for the film. Despite getting a challenging role, he breathes life into his character. Mahesh Achanta is good in the movie. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
Arjun Jandhyala concentrated more on the screenplay than the story. Especially in the second half, the story becomes extremely weak. However, the director has narrated the story in a decent way but it could have been better if the director focused more on preparing a solid story as well. Production values by Anil Kadiyala and Tirumal Reddy are very rich.
Music by Chaitan Bharadwaj is undoubtedly the highlight of the film. In fact, his background score is one of the few good things about the film. Cinematographer Raam has produced some sleek visuals for this film. His camera angles are also very good. Editing by Tammiraju is neat.
Review:
Not having a solid story can be considered as the major disappointment about this film. The routine story has failed to grab the attention of the audience. The first half of the movie is filled with some unnecessary scenes, love track between the leads and some comedy scenes. On the other hand, in the second half, the comedy scenes became forced.
Also, the action dosage got increased and the narration of the story is also very bad. The pace of narration gets extremely slow in the second half and will actually test the patience of the audience.
Kartikeya, BGM and few comedy scenes can be considered as the plus points of this film but the draggy scenes, lack of a solid story will be the minus points. Overall, 'Guna 369' is just an average commercial entertainer which is not up to the mark.
Plus Points:
Performances
BGM
Dialogues
Minus Points:
Unimpressive Narration
Forced Scenes
Final Verdict: 'Guna 369' Fails to Reach the Expectations.
