PM Narendra Modi is the film that is made on the life of our current Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Vivek Oberoi played the role of Modi in the film while it was directed by Omang Kumar. Since the election code came into a play, the film's release got postponed multiple times and it finally released today. The movie is having a grand release in almost 23 languages which includes Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. Check out the film's review here.
Plot:
Narendra Modi (Vivek Oberoi) is a chai-seller who enjoys life as it comes to him. After getting attracted to spirituality during youth phase, he joins RSS. How this chai-seller became a huge sensation in the field of politics by becoming the Prime Minister of India is the main plot of the movie.
Performances:
Vivek Oberoi is the central attraction of the movie as he is the man who played Modi in the movie. The make-up looked fine but in some scenes, it did not match the mood well. Vivek also tries his best to look like Narendra Modi and behave exactly like him and ended up failing many times.
Performance wise, Vivek did his best and made the audiences engaged in the movie. Manoj Joshi who played Amit Shah in the film is also good and elevated Modi's character well. The rest of the cast did their best and made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
The camera work is excellent in the film. The mood transformations were executed with the camera very well. The editing is a bit clumsy with too much of story being told. It could have been crisper. The music and BGM are good and helped the movie majorly. The dialogues are excellent. The makeup team deserves a special mention. The production values are grand.
Positives:
Vivek Oberoi Performance
Music
Dialogues
Negatives:
No Strength in Screenplay
Few Unnecessary Scenes
Review:
Director Omang Kumar is not new to directing biopics. Earlier, he came up with the project Sarabjit and it has moved everyone into tears. With the theatrical trailer of PM Modi too, Omang created a unique interest in the movie. But, the way he executed the current project might not fill us with utmost satisfaction as the makers avoided a lot of important phases in Modi's life. What we expect in the film might not be there and it can push us into a deep disappointment too.
Also, a biopic needs research but the way makers executed the project reveals us that deep research was not taken up for the project. The film looked rich and appealing but content-wise, there are a lot of hiccups. The movie does not move us emotionally or fill pride for watching the story of a common man becoming the PM but it only gives a movie watching experience just like any other ordinary movie.
Final Verdict: 'PM Modi' is Not a Spectacular on the Big Screen
