Director Maruthi has got a good fame with the movies Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, Mahanubhavudu etc. His movies are famous for the subtle comedy. Maruthi has now come up with a script which Sanjana Reddy has directed. Raj Tarun and Amyra Dastur as the lead pair, Raju Gadu is at the theaters now. Catch the whole review.
Story Line:
Raj (Raj Tarun) is a "Kleptomania" patient. Kleptomania is a medical case in which the patient has a recurrent urge to steal, typically without regard for need or profit. Raj keeps stealing things and eventually breaks up with his girlfriend for the same reason.
He gets introduced to Tanvi(played by Amyra Dastur). Will he reveal the details of his disease to Tanvi? How he deals with this weird disease is the rest of the story.
Roles & Performances:
Raj Tarun and his energy levels are superb. His expressions and gestures when he steals things is just natural. Good execution.
Amyra Dastur: Amyra has done a good job in the limited scope she has got. She looks beautiful.
Rajendra Prasad, Sitara, Subbaraj, Krishna Bhagavan, Rao Ramesh etc were good in the limited roles.
Analysis:
Maruthi has just written the outline of this story and Sanjana Reddy has developed the rest of the story. As a debutant director, she has tried her best, but lacks clarity. Comedy is not that appealing. Dragged narration and routine screenplay.
Technical Aspects:
Gopi Sunder's music is just okay. Technical Values are not that great. The cinematography is good. Editing could have been better.
Plus Points:
+ Raj Tarun
+ Rajendra Prasad
Minus Points:
- Dragged Narration
Final Verdict: Raju Gadu is not very impressive.
