Abortion. This is not one of the topics we are not aware of. Induced abortion is not uncommon in India. There are contrasting opinions on this topic. The movie Kanam is based on this topic. Sai Pallavi and Naga Shourya as the lead pair, Kanam hits the theaters today. Released simultaneously, Kanam is titled Diya in Tamil.

Story Line:
Due to some reasons, Tulasi (Sai Pallavi) gets aborted at a small age of 19. Life becomes normal and goes on well after that. Tulasi gets married to her longtime boyfriend Krishna (Naga Shourya). Life appears to be beautiful for a while.

But, sudden deaths of their family members sent shocks to them. Major changed occur in their life. Tulasi feels like she is haunted. What happens next, what is the connection between the abortion and the tragedies in Tulasi's family is to be watched in the theaters.

Roles and Performances:
After gaining popularity as Bhanumathi in Fidaa, Sai Pallavi did MCA. She is all set to impress as Tulasi in Kanam. Sai Pallavi is the biggest plus for the movie. She has excelled in acting. She is the only saving grace. Impressive performance by Sai Pallavi.

Naga Shourya looks good and justified his role well. Pellichoopulu fame Priyadarshi Pulikonda was fine. Though his presence was not that appealing at the start, a good job. Other actors justified their roles well.

Technical Aspects:
The cinematography by Nirav Shah is really impressive. The rich capture of the lens is beautiful. Every frame carries that excellence. The music by Syam CS is too good. BGM is in sync with the narration. AL Vijay has done a good job in making such a sensitive point. The narration is gripping and the subject itself is interesting.

Plus Points:

Sai Pallavi’s Performance
Gripping Story

Minus Points:
Screenplay
Abrupt Ending

Final Verdict:  A Sensitive point is taken and made into a gripping story. Worth Watching.
