Anushka- The Lady Superstar of Tollywood has come out with a horror genre flick- Bhaagamathie. Her performance in Baahubali 2 made her as the biggest lady superstar of the present lot. At this juncture, a film entirely based on her is hitting the screens today. Here is the review of Bhaagamathie-
Bhaagamathie Story:
As the story begins with the god idols has been under robbery from the old temples across the state. For these robberies, concerned department’s minister Eeshwar Prasad (Jayaram) has been subjected to huge criticism by media. Being an honest political leader, he chooses to resign from the minister post and politics as the culprits get away from this case.
At this juncture, Eeshwar Prasad’s party high command gets into trouble with his stand on the issue. This makes the party high command to plan a conspiracy against the Minister by roping CBI into the scene. In the process, they secretly pick up Chanchala (Anushka Shetty-PS to the Minister) from a Jail and puts her in a big bungalow. Actually, she has been under imprisonment in a murder case from quite sometime before CBI picking up for the secret investigation.
In the bungalow, Bhaagamathie’s soul enters into Chanchala and there starts the story. What is the actual conspiracy behind Idols missing from the temples? Who is Bhaagamathie? Why Bhaagamathie targets Chanchala? These questions will be answered in the movie.
Actors & Performances:
Anushka Shetty: She is the main pillar and source of attraction in the film. She essayed the two roles and Bhaagamathie’s role stands out as far superior to Chanchala.
Jayaram: This renowned actor in both Tamil & Malayalam film industries got a meaty role in this flick. He gave his best to the role requirements.
Murli Sharma got a beautiful role in this movie and he did justice to the role. Dhanraj & Prabhas Sreenu performed as per their roles.
Analysis:
Pilla Zamindar movie fame Ashok has come up with a horror & thriller genres in one film this time. He dealt the subject in quite an intriguing manner till first half. The pre-interval episode where the role of Bhaagamathie’s outburst was captured well and this particular scene got a huge applause.
He got successful in presenting the first half in a best possible manner and later the story gets diluted as many layers will come into it as second-half passes on. With his screenplay, he tries to solve the each and every mystery one by one in the later part.
However, the climax turns out a normal one and he fails to create that extra kick in the last minutes of the movie.
Technical Aspects:
Thaman’s BGM stands on top of the entire technical departments and this followed by the amazing contributions from Ravinder’s production design and Madhie’s Cinematography.
Technical team’s brilliance has worked very well in the favour of the movie. Bhaagamathie’s output is the result of their extraordinary hard work.
Plus Points:
+ Anushka
+ BGM
+ Bungalow Set
+ Twists
Minus Points
- Climax
Final Verdict: Watch it for Anushka.
