Tagline: A routine, yet intriguing movie-Yuddham SharanamAfter a decent hit like Rarandoi Veduka Chudham, Naga Chaitanya has come up with this intriguing thriller movie Yuddham Sharanam. Chaitanya who has been praised for his action in the movies and Sahasam Swasaga Saagipo has taken this challenge to do an action movie. With debut director Krishna Marimuthu, will Chaitanya be able to achieve the desired output? Continue to read the full-length review, story, rating, and verdict of Yuddham Sharanam.
Story Plot:
The story starts where the hero- Arjun (Naga Chaitanya) is desperately in search of his missing parents Murali Krishna and Sita. (Rao Ramesh and Revathi). On the other hand, the serial bomb blasts cause severe havoc in the city and the anti-terror forces start the investigation. In this frame of context, Arjun's mind wanders down the memory lane. The flashback reveals the love and affection of Arjun's family members.
Anjali (Lavanya Tripathi) gets introduced to the family, as she comes to serve as a doctor under Sita's supervision. It all goes well until Arjun's parents go missing exactly on their 30th wedding anniversary. Who is behind the bomb blasts? How is it related to Arjun's family? What happened to Arjun's parents? What connection does Anjali have with Arjun's family? To get the answers, watch the movie in the theaters.
Roles and Performances:
Naga Chaitanya's action in the role of Arjun has many shades. The loving son, brother, lover, an aspiring youngster, and above all a fierce hero who doesn't back off to face the worst situations in his life.
Lavanya Tripathi has nothing much to prove her skills. Her role in the movie is very limited, but she looked very cute and beautiful. Revathi and Rao Ramesh lived up to the expectations, their action can be called as an ideal one, as it is quite visible on the screen. Upcoming actor Priyadarshi's role has a decent importance.
Srikanth with his killer looks is the apt villain in Yuddham Sharanam. His attire and serious look give the audience chilling experience. Murali Sharma as an investigation officer has justified his role well, along with the other actors.
Analysis
As the title Yuddham Sharanam hints, the hero gets into a war against the terror forces in unavoidable situations. Both his parents get killed by the villain (Srikanth) and his family face the worst conditions. Hero's establishment in the movie seems pale, which doesn't give a good appeal at the very start.
Emotions were well established, as the love between the family members was portrayed well. Though the heroine had nothing much to do in the movie, the role definitely complimented the story in some scenes.
Villain's portrayal was very well established. Srikanth who played the role of Nayak was terrific. Though the story narration went blunt here and there, the action scenes were very intriguing. Small twists towards the end leave the audience surprised. On a whole, the movie is bombarded with a whole lot of emotions and action sequences.
Technical Aspects:
Being a debut director Krishna Marimuthu succeeded in making a decent thriller, despite the flaws. He tried to give his best in the very first movie, but the overall output is definitely not up to the mark.
The music is a plus for this movie. Vivek Sagar has composed decent songs and racy back-score. The BGM in all the action scenes complements the narration. The first half of the movie leads to the boredom. The same old way of showing family sentiments make the story narration blunt. Production values are richly visible. The rich capture of the lens and the camera work must be appreciated. There was nothing much thrilling, except a few chase scenes which involve hero's family.
Naga Chaitanya's performance at the box-office keeps fluctuating. This movie will give him a good recognition, as he has improved in both emotional and action scenes. After SSS, it is a risk for him to attempt the same kind of movie. Well, it is a movie worth watching.
Do not expect it to be a nail-biting thriller, but the narration is intriguing. Despite the routine story plot, the movie has both emotions and thriller elements bombarded which balance the mood of the audience.
Final Verdict:
Yuddham Sharanam- A movie worth-watching, despite its flaws. Go with out any expectations.
