Rajinikanth To Reunite With Maniratnam After 3 Decades?

Exciting rumors suggest superstar Rajinikanth might collaborate with legendary director Mani Ratnam for a new film, marking their first project together in 33 years. If the reports are true, this would be their second collaboration, following their 1991 blockbuster Thalapathy, celebrated as a milestone in Indian cinema.

Thalapathy is a film inspired by the friendship of Karna and Duryodhana from the Mahabharata, starred Rajinikanth and Mammootty in iconic roles. Its emotional depth and powerful performances helped make it a critical and commercial success, earning a lasting legacy in Indian cinema.

This news comes shortly after Mani Ratnam teamed up with Kamal Haasan for Thug Life, marking another much-anticipated reunion since Nayakan (1987). Meanwhile, Rajinikanth has other exciting projects lined up, including Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel and starring Amitabh Bachchan and Fahadh Faasil, and Coolie, helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, featuring Shruti Haasan and Nagarjuna.

The announcement regarding Rajinikanth and Maniratnam's collaboration is likely to happen on Rajini's birthday, December 12th.
