Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi recently stirred controversy with his remarks about Rebel Star Prabhas in an interview on a YouTube channel about a month ago. While discussing Kalki 2898 AD, Arshad commented, "Prabhas, I am really sad, why was he… he was like a joker." This statement upset Prabhas' fans and several members of the Telugu film industry.
Actors Nani and Sudheer Babu were among those who openly criticized Arshad's comments. Even Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin responded on X (formerly Twitter), saying, "Arshad saab should have chosen his words better… but it's ok… sending Buji toys for his kids… I will work hard, so tweets… that Prabhas was the best in K2."
When asked about the backlash during his appearance at IIFA's green carpet, Arshad clarified, "I spoke about the character, not the person. He (Prabhas) is a brilliant actor and has repeatedly proved himself, and we know about it."
Arshad further added that it’s heartbreaking when talented actors are given poorly developed characters.
