IMDb Reveals Top 100 Most Viewed Indian Stars of the Last Decade

IMDb, the world’s leading source for information on movies, TV shows, and celebrities, has unveiled its list of the Top 100 Most Viewed Indian Stars of the Last Decade. This list is based on the actual page views of IMDb's over 250 million monthly visitors worldwide. Leading the list is Deepika Padukone, who debuted opposite Shah Rukh Khan in "Om Shanti Om" (2007) and has since starred in several blockbusters, including "Cocktail," "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani," and "Padmaavat." She also made her Hollywood debut in "xXx: Return of Xander Cage" (2017) alongside Vin Diesel.

Reflecting on this recognition, Deepika Padukone expressed her gratitude: “I’m deeply grateful to be included in a list that captures the sentiment of a global audience. IMDb stands as a beacon of credibility, reflecting the true pulse of people's passion, interests, and preferences. This recognition is truly humbling and inspires me to continue connecting with and reciprocating the love I receive from audiences, both on and off-screen with authenticity and purpose.”

Padukone will next be seen in "Kalki 2898 AD," releasing on June 27, 2024, and in "Singham Again" later this year.

Representation of South Indian Stars

The list also highlights the growing popularity of South Indian cinema. Notably, three actresses from the South Indian film industry have secured top 20 positions. Samantha Ruth Prabhu ranks 13th, known for her work in Tamil and Telugu films such as "Ye Maaya Chesave" and "Super Deluxe." She recently appeared in the Amazon Prime Video series "The Family Man" season 2 and will star in the upcoming series "Citadel: Honey Bunny" opposite Varun Dhawan.

Expressing her gratitude, Samantha said, “This is the sum total of the efforts of all the directors, writers, and producers who have contributed to this and the incredible love and faith that the audience has shown me. Truly humbled and overwhelmed. Thank you IMDb for this honor.”

Tamannaah Bhatia, who ranks 16th, debuted in the 2005 Telugu film "Sree" and is known for her roles in the "Baahubali" series. Nayanthara, ranked 18th, made her debut in the Malayalam film "Manassinakkare" (2003) and recently starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan in "Jawan."

### Celebrating Diversity in Indian Cinema

Yaminie Patodia, head of IMDb India, remarked on the list's significance: “The Top 100 Most Viewed Indian Stars of the Last Decade list on IMDb demonstrates a diverse representation, with over 30 stars from the South Indian film industries. This reflects the increasing popularity and reach of Indian actors across the world, enabled by the rise of streaming platforms that have allowed audiences to explore content beyond regional boundaries.”

### Notable Trends and Insights

The list is determined by the page views of IMDb's extensive user base. Patodia noted that actors who work across different film industries can reach new audiences with each project, highlighting the impact of streaming platforms in broadening the reach of Indian cinema.
