Popular director Gunasekhar is yet to release a film after the 2015 period drama Rudhramadevi. Recently, he announced his ambitious project Shakuntalam which is touted to be an epic love sage. If the latest grapevine is anything to go by, Samantha may play the female lead in it.
According to the reports, Gunasekhar is currently holding talks with Samantha. We hear that the Rangasthalam actress has shown interest in acting in this movie. We may expect an official announcement from the makers in January. The regular shooting of the movie begins in a couple of months.
Samantha is currently hosting the show Sam Jam. She is also acting in the Tamil film Kathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal and okayed a project with Nandini Reddy. On the flip side, Gunasekhar will make Hiranyakasipa with Rana Daggubati after wrapping up Shakuntalam.
