Covid-19 has wreaked havoc in many industries and the film industry is one of them. Theaters are closed and there is no sign of reopening in the coming two months. Shootings were stalled nearly four months ago. And filmmakers are worried that normalcy will be restored only the next year. With no work, several filmmakers and technicians started searching for other income sources.
In a recent development, Tamil director Anand opened a small grocery store in Mowlivakkam, Chennai. He rented shutter in his friend's building with his savings and started the store for his survival. He is saying that he doesn't see any activity in the film industry this year because people are gripped with fear. He will go back to the films only after normalcy is restored.
Anand is known for films like 'Oru Mazhai Naangu Saaral', 'Mouna Mazhai' etc. His latest film 'Thuninthu Sei' is in the final stages of production.
