Like every other sector, the film industry also is facing a huge loss due to the Corona crisis. The film shootings are halted and theatres are shut down everywhere. Due to this long gap, directors are reworking on their scripts and they may likely reshoot some key portions as well by truncating scenes that are already completed.
This is going to affect Stylish Star Allu Arjun-Sukumar's Pushpa also. More than 25% of the shoot would have been finished by now if the lockdown was not in place. Before this lockdown, some scenes were shot in Kerala and a new schedule was planned. But, the makers couldn't resume shoot due to the outbreak of this pandemic.
Also, there is no clarity over when shoots will resume in Kerala and it's not quite easy to get permission in that state. So, the entire planning about 'Pushpa' has changed. The makers are in discussions to finish the planned Kerala episodes in East Godavari forests. So, the scenes that were already shot in Kerala will be re-captured. So, it is going to cost an additional Rs 3 Cr burden for the producers.
This problem is not just for Pushpa, many other films are facing a similar issue. As soon the lockdown rules are lifted, makers will have a better picture clarity about permissions in various states and they will plan how to deal with it. Only after that, the overall loss can be estimated for other movies.
