Come this Sankranthi, Tollywood is going to witness four releases. But, the major focus is on Mahesh Babu's 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' and Allu Arjun's 'Ala Vaikuntapuramlo', releasing on 11 and 12 January respectively. This isn't a maiden occasion when 4 films are walking into cinemas during the Pongal season. But, the battle between two big films - Ala Vaikuntapuramlo and Sarileru Neekevvaru has grabbed the entire attention of the audiences. In fact, the makers of both films had an indirect clash in announcing release dates.
Amidst the two major movies, we've Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Darbar' and Kalyan Ram's 'Entha Manchi Vaadavira' for Pongal. But, there is little or no buzz in these films. Without much hype and weak promotions, Darbar & Entha Manchi Vaadavura may suffer a little to make good opening numbers.
But, trade analysts feel that low buzz would help those two films. The chances of winning the love of audiences are bright if a movie gets released without high expectations and gain some good feedback. Shatamanam Bhavati in 2017 emerged as the winner after coming to the cinemas with the low buzz. No wonder if Kalyan Ram's movie repeats the same magic because it is made by Satish Vegasna, director of Shatamanam.
On the other hand, Darbar is arriving silently but it has all kinds of possibilities to grow big based on the response from first-day viewers. Even though Rajini is coming after three back-to-back flops, he can change the equation and has the potential to create records. So, nobody can predict how far the two low-buzz films can go if they earn positive talk.
