Kollywood film Asuran featuring Dhanush and Manju Warrior in the lead was released on 4th October and the film went on to gain amazing reviews from critics and has made Rs 100 Cr at worldwide box-office in just 10 days of release.
After the massive success in Tamil, the intense action drama made by Vetrimaran will now be remade in Telugu and Victory Venkatesh will be stepping into the shoes of Dhanush in this remake. While Kalaippuli S Thanu has produced Tamil version of Asuran, Telugu remake will be jointly bankrolled by Suresh Babu and Kalaippuli S Thanu under Suresh Productions & V Creations banner. An official announcement in this regard was made by Suresh Productions on Twitter.
Venkatesh is currently busy working on 'Venky Mama', the multistarrer film which also has Naga Chaitanya as other lead. Touted as a comedy drama, Venky Mama has Payal Rajput alongside Venkatesh. The film also has Raashi Khanna, Sampath Raj, Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji, Srinivasa Reddy and Posani in other important roles.
On other hand, producer Suresh Babu acquired the rights of Bollywood movie 'De De Pyaar De', featuring Ajay Devgan, Tabu & Rakul Preet Singh, to remake in Telugu with Victory Venkatesh. However, it wasn't announced officially.
