The culture of freemake and lift and shift pattern is quite common in Telugu and most of the times the inspiration comes either from Hollywood or Korean movies. Lately, this process has moved towards World Cinema and to those who are knowledgeable with cinema is able to identify the source of such scenes.
While lifting or copying is one thing, it is also important to reproduce it in the right manner with the same impact. Unfortunately, not all have that talent. The recent release ‘Savyasachi’ featuring Yuva Samrat Akkineni Naga Chaitanya had that instant. One of the scene was copied from the famous short film ‘Pasternak’.
This short film was later dubbed into English as ‘Wild Tales’ and became a sensation. Director Chandoo Mondeti picked the same concept and used it for ‘Savyasachi’. Those who have seen it and are aware of the short film are saying the idea is good but it was not that engaging. So, the effort has gone in vain.
