There is no doubt that the fate of a film rests largely on the hero because he is the face of it and pulls the crowds to the theatres. It is here that the concept of star power and box office stamina comes into the picture. While that is clear, it is also true that when the hero is not having a success phase, he needs to mix up his promotional strategy.
Aggressive star Gopichand has been going through a bumpy ride since a while and now he is arriving with the movie ‘Pantham’. However, the analysts have noticed that almost the entire pre release publicity has been done projecting only Gopichand. Fact remains that there are also other assets like heroine Mehreen Kaur who can give a good glamour touch.
There is also the senior star Mukesh Rishi whose presence during the promotional events would have given a very different feel. Incidentally, Gopichand did the same for his earlier movies like ‘Gautham Nanda’ and it didn’t really work. It is about time they change this morose and predictable hero worship pattern and give space to the team which will make a huge positive impact.
