You know well that the dynamics of cinema business has changed significantly and today it is the opening day collections and the subsequent weekend collections which make or break the film. Hence, the makers do their best to get heavy openings.
Also, the sentiment runs that if the openings are strong the film gets more window to run in theatres. Now, one way to get more openings is through the ‘A’ censor certificate. Whenever the board has given that certificate, the audiences show more interest to watch the film.
For some reason, the expectations will rise and as a result, the collections will increase. Usually, a film getting ‘A’ certificate tends to raise enough controversy which adds to further publicity. While it may not work for every movie, it does work for majority of the films.
