The biggest tribute you can get as an iconic personality is when your statue is erected at one of the key junctions of a city as a mark of respect and remembrance. This gets doubled when your statue comes up in a different state. This honor was achieved by one Telugu man.
He is Nata Bhushana Sobhan Babu whose statue is there in Chennai and this has become the issue of contention. So far, the Jayalalithaa government had offered its protection but now that Jaya is no more, the Tamil fanatics will do what they wish.
There was some friction as few Tamil fanatics wanted to put up the statue of LTTE chief Prabhakaran were denied the permission. The question now is, will the statue of Sobhan Babu have protection. The government gave full support and protection but now it may not be so.
