Ae Dil Hai Mushkil film has finally got a green signal for a theatrical release this Diwali after much ado about casting Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. ADHM filmmaker Karan Johar & Producer’s Guild have obliged to few demands of MNS Supremo Raj Thackery in a much hyped meet in the presence of Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis.
Karan Johar agreed to put a title card paying homage to the martyrs of URI attack besides donating Rs 5Cr towards Army Welfare Fund. They have submitted a written note promising not to cast Pakistani actors in their films in future.
Well this apparently didn’t go well with few film personalities like veteran actress Shabana Azmi who accused Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of "brokering" this treaty instead of enforcing the proceedings as per the law. She literally blasted the CM describing his role as "mediation" and countered to the warnings of MNS through her tweets :
While this deal might be a sigh of relief for ADHM producers, the demand of Rs 5 Cr is believed to be 'official extortion' by a section of film circles. Well it is indeed unfortunate to see filmmakers undergo such trauma to exhibit their art of work.
