Sabki Aan, sabki shaan, sabka ek bhaijaan Salman Khan has emerged to be the real ‘Sultan’ of the box-office with his latest release Sultan movie.
Even though Sultan movie released on a week day (Wednesday), the film registered a record first day opening of above Rs 40 Cr worldwide. Well after opening to full houses on the first day with a record occupancy of 86-90% all through the day, Sultan movie cruised ahead to set new records. As per the latest trade reports, Sultan movie minted Rs 105.34 Cr in just three days surpassing his previous records of Bajrangi Bhaijaan & Prem Rathan Dhan Payo. On the other hand, Sultan overseas collections in three days are estimated to be over Rs 50 Cr making it is the fastest film to collect Rs 150 Cr.
Interestingly it is the tenth Rs 100Cr film for Salman Khan thereby making him the only Superstar to have ten Rs 100Cr films to his credit (followed by Shah Rukh Khan with 6 films). Given the current craze and form, Sultan movie is expected to rake in Rs 60- Rs 70 Cr quite easily over this weekend which will set yet another all-time record for any film in the Indian film industry. We need to wait see if Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali movie can surpass Sultan’s records.
