You are seeing a plethora of comedy flicks that are making their way in Tollywood and whether they click at the box office or not, the attempts to make them don’t cease. But there was a time when one legendary filmmaker’s name was enough to draw huge crowds to the theatres.
His name is Jandhyala and way back in 1987 he came up with a cult comedy movie known as Padamati Sandhya Ragam. It deals with a love story between a traditional Telugu girl who goes to the USA on vacation and an American white boy. The film got huge acclaim around that time.
While Padamati Sandhya Ragam is Indo-American comedy, one project which is currently on the floors is repeating the act. This is Sankarabharanam and sources say it is also like Jandhyala’s flick because part shooting is done in USA and part will be in India. Though it is a remake of the Bollywood flick Phas Gaya Re Obama some American flavor is being added to the script and the man behind all this is star writer and producer Kona Venkat.
