Pandaga Chesko is an upcoming masala entertainer starring energetic hero Ram, Rakul Preet Singh and Sonal Chauhan in lead roles. The film is directed by Gopichand Malineni who gave a good hit Balupu earlier. Music for the films is composed by high voltage S.S.Thaman. Here is an iQlik exclusive audio review of the album:
The entertaining album begins on an optimistic note with a fun filled solo Life is Beautiful sung with powerful vocals by Deepak. The typical Thaman styled gripping rhythm and strong percussions are clearly evident right from the prelude. Chandrabose’s simple yet effective lyrics add an additional fun layer to the song. The tune is quite catchy and peppy for every listener to rejoice.
The trendy flavor continues with Dorikaade Dorikaade- a feel good female solo sung by Megha. The groovy Hip-Hop beats pave the way for sultry vocals by the lead singer. The mellowed bass work makes a good impact and decent mixing makes it an enjoyable hearing. Though it has the irresistible resemblance with Thaman’s earlier hit “Sir Ostara” from Businessman, it is quite contemporary.
Ye Pilla PIlla is a funny take on a teasing song sung by Thaman himself. However, it is the thumping beat and riffs which take the front seat. In short, this is just another typical Thaman styled composition with similar arrangements and presentation. The additional layers of harmonium attempt to give a folk dimension to the track but makes minimal impact.
It is time for a funky duet Chuda Sakkagunnave with foot tapping rhythm and nevertheless having the hangover of Thaman’s earlier hit songs. Bhaskarabhatla’s lyrics have fancy terms and add a peppy layer to the track. The interludes have mellowed arrangements which are quite surprising.
The album arrives to a finale with the title song Pandaga Chesko which stays truthful to the mass masala flavor. It takes detour to folk styled presentation and Geetha Madhuri’s rendition is the only one which stands out in the song. However, it has an obvious resemblance to Thaman’s earlier hit “ Cinema Choopistha Mama” in Race Gurram.
Verdict:
Pandaga Chesko is essentially trendy and follows the mass masala formula with ease. However, Thaman sounds more repetitive than ever and it looks even more obvious for this album. Lack of new sounding and novelty proves to be a big setback.
