Looks like Universal Hero Kamal Haasan is having a tough time. This acting great is known for his versatility, love and passion for cinema. He stood against many odds and mediocrity to present a good film to the audience. A certain section of the society has been repeatedly bothering Kamal Haasan right from the word ‘go’ for Vishwaroopam.
We all knew what Kamal went through for the release of Vishwaroopam and in spite of the ban and other pre-release hungama, the film went out to become the biggest hit of the season. Now as per the latest reports, a ban petition was filed against Kamal’s upcoming film Uttama Villain also.
Going into the details, a wing of Vishwa Hindu Parishad in Tamil Nadu has filed a petition in the court demanding to ban the film as its recently released Tamil trailer allegedly contains objectionable dialogues between mythological characters Hiranyakasyapa and Prahlada, that might hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community.
Uttama Villain is a comedy drama where in Kamal plays a dual role of a film actor and a Theyyam artist in two different timelines of the plot. The film directed by actor turned director Ramesh Arvind has recently completed its censor formalities and has been certified with U certificate. With the film gearing up for a worldwide release on May 1, this call for ban has created doubts over the film’s release. Hope everything goes well and we can watch Kamal’s magic on the celluloid on the promised date!
