The famous Bill Gates once said ‘Intellectual property has the shelf life of a banana’. True to that, the product called cinema runs on a very short span and this is one reason why its makers try to gain the maximum returns when they release it. Lately, the new trend has been to make the film into a bilingual or multi-lingual.
This process is seen more in Tollywood and Kollywood. But there are also times when one version releases and the other doesn’t. This seems to be the case with the film Chikkadu Dorakadu. Starring Siddharth and Lakshmi Menon in the lead, the film is the dubbed version of the Tamil flick Jigarthanda directed by Karthik Subburaj of Pizza fame.
While the Tamil version has become a super hit, nobody has a clue on why the delay has occurred to release the Telugu version. Some of the cine analysts are speculating whether there is an advantage if it releases late. With the festive season on and big star films lined up, if Chikkadu Dorakadu doesn’t come soon then the audience will also become ‘Chikkaru Dorakaru’ for this film.
