We know that Akhil, son of Akkineni Nagarjuna holds the record for the youngest debut in Tollywood. He has acted in 1995 film Sisindri and he was 15 months baby at that time. But, we just got to know about the real record holder from one of the senior historians. Yes, Nagarjuna himself has made his debut at the age of 10 months without his knowledge in a 1964 film titled Velugu Needalu. Though this fact remained unnoticed until now, it was revealed after some history search by musicologist Raja.
As per the history – the unit of Velugu Needalu film wanted an infant to appear in the situational song titled "Challani Vennela Konalo..." and the producer Dukkipati Madhusudhana Rao has asked Akkineni Annapurnamma to send their younger son for few hours for shooting. The young boy was Nagarjuna and he will be seen in the song for a couple of minutes with the likes of Savithri and Girija singing the song. And, this whole episode has happened without the knowledge of Akkineni Nageswara Rao and he was said to be surprised when he came to know about this later. Velugu Needalu featured ANR, Savithri, Jaggaiah, SV Ranga Rao, Relangi, etc. Music was composed by Pendyala Nageswara Rao and lyrics were by Kosaraju.
So, it is Akkineni Nagarjuna who holds the record for “Youngest Debut” and not his son Akhil...
