Ali, one of the ace comedians of the industry is a self-made man. In a way, with an incredible career spanning over three decades, he can be referred to as the senior most comedian of the industry.
Before foraying into the glitzy world, he was the Little Superstar of Rajamundry gullies mimicking legends including Amitabh Bachchan and all. And director Bharati Raja exactly wants a cracker like Ali for his film Seethakoka Chiluka (1981). When Ali got to know this, he was super excited about the offer. And the moment Bharati Raja witnessed Ali, his quest ended and the project was on. The movie was briskly progressing and while shooting one of the scenes, director Bharati Raja who was somehow irritated with Ali, slapped him. Immediately toddler Ali broke into tears. Producer Yedida Nageswar Rao who noticed Ali sobbing around the corner, went to him, consoled and gave Rs 200 to Ali.
Well, this is something every elderly creature would do on seeing a kid crying. But, Ali wasn’t every other kid. Chota Ali was quite surprised when he was given money. He only realized that you will be given money when you cry and it seems he was just wondering when he would be slapped next [so that he would be given money again!] Smart chap…isn’t he?
Well, he ate many such slaps, humiliations, setbacks and here he is the pride of Telugu cinema with 900 and above films. But nothing like a first slap!
