Kasinathuni Vishwanath’s Sankarabharanam (1980), one of the cult-classic movies of all-time in Telugu cinema is now getting ready for a Tamil release after almost 35 years of its theatrical release in Telugu. According to our sources, the classic-musical-film is going to be dubbed in Tamil and it will be unveiled with the same title. But, the Tamil version distributors will release it in a digitized and color-corrected format.
Sankarabharanam stars J.V Somayajulu, Manju Bhargavi and Chandra Mohan in the lead roles and the film won four National awards and five Nandi awards. Undoubtedly, this masterpiece is widely regarded as one of the greatest films in Indian cinema.
Produced by Edida Nageshwara Rao under Poornodaya Movie creations, the film has music by KV Mahadevan and cinematography by Balu Mahendra. The ever-green film was also included in CNN-IBN’s list of ‘Hundred greatest Indian films of all time’.
