Veteran Playback Singer Prathivadhi Bhayankara Srinivas, Popularly called PB Srinivas who had rendered more than 3000 songs in 8 languages breathed his last today at his Saidapet residence in Chennai on Sunday afternoon. He was 82 and survived by two sons and daughter. It was said that Srinivas is not well for the last few days and was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. He was recently discharged but collapsed this afternoon after taking bath.
Srinivas was born in Kakinada on September 22, 1930 to Phanindra Swamy and Seshagiryamma. He rendered 3,000 songs in eight languages including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayam, Hindi. His voice was more suitable to Kannada Superstar Raj Kumar and Tamil Superstar Gemeni Ganeshan. His last rites will be performed in Chennai on Monday.
