Nandamuri Balakrishna is known for trusting his directors and going to any extent to fulfill their vision. When he teamed up with director KS Ravindra, no one had any expectations in the film. The fans also did not have many expectations since KS Ravindra claimed to be a fan of Chiranjeevi. But, taking everyone to a shock, Ravindra rocked the teaser.
Balakrishna has never presented such an intense yet massive character in recent times. Apart from Boyapati Srinu, no other director was able to fire the sparkle in Balakrishna. But KS Ravindra seems to have struck the right chord. According to him, Balayya as Daaku Maharaaj is as intense as Keanu Reeves in the film John Wick.
"John Wick is my favorite film. Balakrishna garu in Daku Maharaaj is as subtle and as intense as Keanu Reeves in John Wick. Even though Balakrishna garu does a settled performance, the theatre will be in a vibration mode because of the high that gets generated. There is a swag in it, and Thaman also composed the apt score," said KS Ravindra.
It is interesting to see KS Ravindra using a Hollywood film as a reference point to elevate Balayya's character. So far, all the directors have focused only on elevating the mass side of Balayya, but no one has been able to bring out the style and swag in him. It looks like KS Ravindra has achieved both, and hence, there is confidence at the display.
Daku Maharaaj is hitting the screens on January 12th, 2025.
