The recent stampede at Sandhya Theater during the "Pushpa 2" premiere has intensified with the Chikkadapalli Police issuing a show cause notice to the theater management.
This move follows Allu Arjun's arrest and release on interim bail, amid reports that the Hyderabad Police intend to challenge his bail in the Supreme Court.
The police cited critical operational lapses that allegedly contributed to the fatal incident. Key concerns included the absence of proper entry and exit signage, inadequate crowd management, and unauthorized promotional flexis placed outside the theater.
With a combined seating capacity of approximately 2,520 across the Sandhya 70MM and 35MM screens, the theater’s infrastructure and safety protocols were found deficient.
The notice also criticized the theater management for failing to inform local police about Allu Arjun’s visit despite prior knowledge. Inadequate seating arrangements, poor crowd control planning, and the unchecked entry of Allu Arjun’s private security further exacerbated the situation.
The police demanded a response from the theater management within ten days, warning that failure to provide a satisfactory explanation could result in the cancellation of the theater’s operating license.
