The upcoming ANR Award ceremony on October 28 promises a star-studded celebration as Amitabh Bachchan presents the prestigious award to Megastar Chiranjeevi. This event also honors the 100th birth anniversary of the legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), whose contributions to Indian cinema have left an indelible mark. Last month, ANR's centenary was celebrated with the unveiling of a commemorative postal stamp by the Government of India, with the entire Akkineni family and many esteemed guests sharing heartfelt memories.

As a tribute to ANR’s legacy, the Akkineni family has chosen to honor Padma Vibhushan recipient Chiranjeevi with the ANR Award, recognizing his exceptional contributions to cinema. Chiranjeevi, the second Telugu personality to receive the Padma Vibhushan after ANR in 2011, is celebrated not only for his impactful performances but for his influence across Indian cinema. Amitabh Bachchan, a close friend and colleague of both ANR and Chiranjeevi, will present the award, making this occasion even more momentous.

On social media, Nagarjuna expressed his excitement, writing, “This year is extra special as we celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of my father, ANR garu! 🎉 Honoured to invite @SrBachchan ji and Megastar @KChiruTweets garu to the ANR Awards 2024 to mark this milestone! 🙏 Let’s make this award function unforgettable! 🙌 @AnnapurnaStdios #ANRLivesOn #ANRNationalAward #ANR100Years.” He also shared photos capturing his joyful invitation to Chiranjeevi, further building anticipation for this grand event.

The ANR Award, established to honor cinematic excellence, has been presented to iconic figures such as Dev Anand, Shabana Azmi, Lata Mangeshkar, Hema Malini, S.S. Rajamouli, Sridevi, and Rekha, to name a few. This year’s ceremony will continue this tradition, celebrating both the legacy of ANR and the enduring power of Indian cinema.

With an impressive lineup of stars expected to attend, including Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi, and Amitabh Bachchan, the event is set to be a memorable evening for fans and film lovers alike.
