In a new twist to the Bengaluru rave party case, Telugu actress Hema has been officially named in the chargesheet submitted by the Crime Branch to the Bengaluru Rural Additional District Sessions Court. Hema, who was earlier arrested in connection with the scandal, tested positive for drug use, according to media reports.
The chargesheet, which spans over 1,000 pages, implicates Hema along with 79 others linked to the rave party that took place at a farmhouse near Hebbagodi. Reports suggest that the actress consumed MDMA during the event. The police have gathered substantial evidence, including medical records, proving that she was under the influence of drugs at the time.
The rave party, organized by businessman L. Vasu in May, attracted several high-profile individuals. However, the event was raided by the police following a tip-off. Blood samples were taken from all the guests, and Hema, among others, tested positive for drug use. Following the raid, the actress was arrested along with several other attendees who also tested positive.
Despite her arrest, Hema has consistently denied the charges. She was granted bail and has since claimed that the police did not collect her blood sample and that she was falsely accused. In several interviews and a video posted on her social media accounts, Hema asserted that her test results were negative and expressed her frustration with the situation. She even mentioned her desire to seek support from political figures like Pawan Kalyan.
Those implicated in the Bengaluru rave party case are reportedly being booked under the NDPS Act, Section 27(b), which deals with drug consumption offenses. The court has yet to deliver a final judgment on the accused individuals.
