Prabhas’ forthcoming film currently known as “Fauji” has been creating huge anticipation, particularly around its cast. Rumors had it that Hanu Raghavapudi was making a film starring Mrunal Thakur. Nevertheless, Mrunal confirmed that she is not involved in the project recently.

In response to a post suggesting her involvement, she took to Instagram and responded playfully. She jokingly debunked the rumor by commenting: “Sorry to be a vibe killer! Buttttt I’m not a part of this film.”

The curiosity about casting does not stop there either. Recent reports have come up in relation to Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor being considered for the female lead role. Shraddha Kapoor might join after finishing Stree 2. They previously starred together in Saaho (2019), Prabhas first big-budget movie as it marked his entry into Bollywood and was successful at box office.

It is interesting that on-going search for leading lady in Fauji has also seen links between Pakistani actress Sajal Aly and the character according to earlier reports towards July 2024.

Director Hanu Raghavapudi has hinted that Fauji will be a historical action drama taking an alternative history perspective which has raised expectations even higher.

On the other hand, Prabhas is fresh from his global hit Kalki 2898 AD which was produced by Nag Ashwin. The actor also revealed his next project which is a romantic-horror comedy entitled The Raja Saab directed by Maruthi scheduled for release in April 2025.
