Film Nagar is abuzz with speculation that senior Telugu actor Nagarjuna Akkineni was approached to play a villain in the much-anticipated movie “Coolie,” starring Superstar Rajinikanth and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. This film, centered around the theme of gold smuggling, has been generating excitement following the title and teaser reveal.

Lokesh Kanagaraj is known for his knack for casting well-known actors in antagonist roles, with successful examples including Vijay Sethupathi in "Master" and Sanjay Dutt in "Leo." Given this trend, many believed Nagarjuna would readily accept the role. However, insider reports suggest that Nagarjuna may have declined the offer. It appears he opted not to take on a villain role to maintain his status as a star hero.

Nagarjuna is currently immersed in his ongoing project, “Kubera,” directed by Sekhar Kammula, where he plays a significant role alongside Dhanush. Additionally, he is working on another film to be directed by Vijay Binni, known for directing "Naa Saami Ranga."

Nagarjuna's decision not to step into a negative role in "Coolie" underscores his desire to continue being perceived as a leading hero in the industry, even as he explores diverse roles in his other projects.
