Back in 2021, Allu Arjun became a national sensation with the release of Pushpa: The Rise, directed by Sukumar. The film became a smash hit during the challenging Covid times, and its sequel, Pushpa: The Rule, has since been one of the most anticipated films. Initially, the makers confirmed that Pushpa 2 would hit the big screen on August 15, 2024. However, we have now exclusively learned that Pushpa 2 is officially postponed.

New Release Target: December 2024

According to sources close to the project, Pushpa 2 will no longer release on August 15, 2024. "Discussions about delaying Pushpa 2 have been ongoing for a while. The team was always racing against time to complete the shoot and finalize the edit for the Independence Day 2024 weekend. Yesterday, they finally decided to delay the release date, and an official announcement on the new date is expected soon," revealed a source close to the development. The delay is primarily due to setbacks in the shooting schedule.

The source further mentioned that Allu Arjun, director Sukumar, and Mythri Movie Makers are now considering a December 2024 release. "The Pushpa 2 team is evaluating several date options, including Dussehra 2024, December 2024, and Pongal 2025. However, it seems most likely that Pushpa 2 will arrive in December," the source added. For context, Pushpa: The Rise was released on December 17, 2021, and it appears the sequel will follow a similar timeline.

Focus on Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil Conflict

So far, the Pushpa team has unveiled a teaser and two songs, but the delay will now temporarily pause their promotional campaign. Pushpa 2 features Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in key roles, with the sequel mainly focusing on the conflict between Allu Arjun's character and Fahadh Faasil's antagonist role. More details are awaited as fans eagerly anticipate the continuation of this blockbuster saga.
