The film was a massive success and was remade in multiple languages. After almost fifteen years, a Bollywood remake of Chatrapathi is in the works. It's noteworthy that a Telugu hero, Bellamkonda Sreenivas, is leading the remake, which also marks his Bollywood debut.

Although the remake was announced with great fanfare, it has faced delays, and shooting is ongoing. However, recent reports suggest that the film could release in the summer of this year, with the remaining work being expedited to meet the deadline.

The Chatrapathi remake could be Bellamkonda Sreenivas's big break, and the makers are reportedly aiming for a summer release to capitalise on the Pan-India trend. Nushrratt Bharuccha, a Bollywood actress, has been cast as the female lead, and the film has an impressive ensemble cast. Pen India Limited is co-producing the film with Pen Marudhar Cine Entertainment.
