For his struggles and stardom since 1980's, Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi was conferred with the 'Indian Film Personality of the Year' award on final day of 53rd International Film festival of India (IFFI)
On Monday, Megastar was felicitated by the Union I&B Minister Anurag Thakur and Pramod Sawant, CM of Goa at IFFI. Thakur, congratulated Chiranjeevi on the occasion for contributing to films in the last four decades.
Sharing his happiness at the event, Chiranjeevi said “I was expecting this moment to happen. I was at the same film festival years back, I used to hardly see any south actors," he said. Also responding to debates between regional films, Chiranjeevi said Regional has to go, the film should be an Indian film.
Chiranjeevi also thanked IFFI, government of India and the film industry and mentioned how he owes a lot to the showbiz world. “Always be grateful to my parents for giving me birth as Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad and to the film industry which gave birth to Chiranjeevi, I will never leave films for a lifetime, I will always be here," he concluded.
On the work front, Chiranjeevi is currently busy with his upcoming films Waltier Veeraya and BolaShankar.
