Vijay Deverakonda's Liger was released in Telugu on Friday. While the advance bookings in the Telugu states have been sensational, the trend is a bit disappointing in the Hindi belt.

North Indians started trending #BoycottLiger on social media due to the presence of Karan Johar and Ananya Panday in the project. Even the advance bookings are pretty low. Moreover, Liger released in Hindi on August 26, not on the 25th. And, the film opened to a negative response.

A lot depends on the word of mouth that the Telugu version gets but the word of mouth is not good. Allu Arjun's Pushpa managed to earn Rs. 3.33 crores on the first day in Hindi. Unfortunately, Vijay failed to collect the same and Liger failed to cross Pushpa in Hindi.

Directed by Puri Jagannath, Liger features Ananya Panday as the female lead. Ramya Krishna, Mike Tyson and Ronit Roy played the other important roles in the movie.
