Vijay Devarakonda's Liger is set to release on the 25th of August. Starring Ananya Panday in the lead actress role, the film is a Pan India film directed by Puri Jagannadh. The cast has been promoting Liger for the last one month all over the country.

While Vijay is very confident about the film, calling it as his ‘biggest film’, interestingly many small-budget movies are locking horns with the film by locking their release date nearer to August 25th.

Among many small-budget movies that are going to release nearer to Liger release date, Kalapuram is the only film with little buzz, directed by Palasa fame director Karuna Kumar. This film is set to release on August 26th. Meanwhile, on the same day, another film called Geetha starring Sunil is going to be released.

Also, Dhanraj and Sunil starrer Bujji Ila Ra is slated to release on September 2. However, none of these films have created buzz among the audience. Unless there is something visually special, there were situations where these films would go totally unnoticed.

So, it is evident that all these film producers are taking a high risk. But, it is not clear whether the reason for the boldness of these producers is the OTT conditions or the strong belief in their movie content.
